Two ways through the door

Both lead to the same community. They differ in what you're asked to give and how soon you can walk in.

Founders are the heart of Threshold's beginning. You're not just joining a community — you're building it. As a Founding Member, you'll have a voice in our governance, help guide our mission and structure, and leave a legacy that will support Black healers for generations.

Founding Member applications require board approval. We're looking for individuals who can contribute time, passion, and strategy to Threshold's development. Approval decisions made within 5 business days.

Common questions about membership

How does Founding Member governance work?
Founding Members have a voice in Threshold's governance — helping guide our mission and structure as the organization takes shape. Applications are reviewed by the board, with decisions made within 5 business days.
Can I upgrade from General to Founding membership later?
Get in touch and we'll talk it through. Founding membership requires board approval, so the application step applies regardless of where you start.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. Contact us at info@thresholdsocial.org and we'll take care of it.
Do I have to live in Richmond to join?
Our gatherings are rooted in Richmond, Virginia, so members nearby get the most from in-person programming. If you're outside the area and align with our mission, reach out.
Is my membership tax-deductible?
Threshold Social is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 39-2871444). Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and what your membership includes, so please check with a tax professional.
